Connecting to a Game Server via FTP

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following information readily available:

  • Your Elevated Game Panel credentials.
  • Your game server's SFTP details (found in the Settings tab of the Elevated Game Panel for your specific server).

 

Step 1: Download and Install FileZilla

  1. Visit the official FileZilla website here and navigate to the "Download FileZilla Client" section.
  2. Download the appropriate version of FileZilla for your operating system and install it on your computer.

 

Step 2: Retrieve SFTP Details from Elevated Game Panel

  1. Log in to your Elevated Game Panel using your credentials.
  2. Once logged in, click on the "Settings" tab in the top navigation bar.
  3. Scroll down to the "SFTP Details" section.
  4. Take note of the following information:
    • Server Address
    • Username
    • SFTP password (use the same password you use to log in to the Elevated Game Panel)

 

Step 3: Connect to Your Game Server with FileZilla

  1. Launch FileZilla on your computer.
  2. In the "FileZilla" menu, click on "File" and select "Site Manager".
  3. In the "Site Manager" window, click on the "New Site" button.
  4. Enter a name for your server (e.g., My Game Server) in the "My Sites" section.
  5. In the "Host" field, enter the Server Address you obtained from the Elevated Game Panel.
  6. Choose "SFTP - SSH File Transfer Protocol" as the protocol.
  7. Enter the SFTP port number in the "Port" field.
  8. Choose "Ask for password" in the "Logon Type" drop-down menu.
  9. Enter your Username and Password in the respective fields.
  10. Click on the "Connect" button.

 

Step 4: Managing Files on Your Game Server

  1. Once connected, FileZilla will display the local files on the left side and the remote files on the right side.
  2. The remote files pane represents your game server's file system.
  3. To navigate through your server's folders, double-click on directories in the remote files pane.
  4. To upload files to your server, select them from your local files pane and drag them to the desired location in the remote files pane.
  5. To download files from your server, select them from the remote files pane and drag them to the desired location in the local files pane.
  6. You can also delete, rename, and modify files by right-clicking on them and selecting the appropriate action.
